Nebraska freshman running back Wan’Dale Robinson has had a run-in with campus police, according to a report.
Monday, 1011 Now reported that Robinson was cited for possession of marijuana over the weekend. University of Nebraska-Lincoln police were called to the running back’s room when a service officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the dorm.
Officers arrived on the scene and contacted Robinson and searched his vehicle, which is where the marijuana was located. Robinson now faces an arraignment hearing on July 9, according to the report.
“We are aware of the situation and are addressing it.” the University of Nebraska Athletic Department said in a statement.
Robinson was a heralded member of Nebraska’s 2019 recruiting class. He was a four-star all-purpose back who flipped from Kentucky to Nebraska near the end of the cycle. Even as a true freshman, Robinson is expected to have a major impact for the Huskers this season.
Robinson was an early enrollee at Nebraska and practiced with the team through the spring.
