Report: Ohio State University finds next school president

Ohio State University has found its next school president, according to a report.
State University of New York Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson, according to the Columbus Dispatch. In her resignation letter, Johnson said she will take over as the Ohio State University president beginning Sept. 1.
Johnson will be replacing current president Michael V. Drake who announced in November that he plans to retire. He has been the school’s president since 2014.

Johnson, 63, earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. She has worked in the field of optical engineering, holds more than 100 patents and is a recipient of the John Fritz Medal, considered one of the highest honors in the engineering field.
She served eight years as dean of the engineering school at Duke University and two years as provost at Johns Hopkins University. She then became a top official in the U.S. Department of Energy during the Obama administration.
Johnson has been the chancellor at SUNY for nearly three years.
