A Pac-12 program is making a push to land former Rutgers guard Jacob Young, according to a report.
According to Andrew Nemec of The Oregonian, Oregon has been making a push to land Young during the offseason. The former Scarlet Knights guard entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal in March, not long after Rutgers was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament,.
Young was the team’s second-leading scorer during the 2020-21 campaign, averaging 14.1 points per game. He was the leading assist man for the Scarlet Knights, dishing out 3.4 dimes per contest.
Young helped Rutgers win its first NCAA Tournament game in 38 years, scoring 13 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and totaling 3 assists in a 60-56 win. He had 9 points, 3 assists and 1 board in the Scarlet Knights’ second round loss to Houston.
In his four seasons at Rutgers, Young appeared in 121 career games.
Rutgers finished the season with a 10-10 record in B1G play and was 16-12 overall. Young will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
