Report: Penn State RBs coach not expected to leave for job at Florida State

Despite Florida State’s best efforts, it doesn’t sound like Ja’Juan Seider is interested in leaving Penn State just yet. A report indicates the Nittany Lions running backs coach will return in 2022.
According to Matt Zenitz of On3, Seider is expected to stay with Penn State and pass on the chance to join Mike Norvell’s staff at Florida State. The Seminoles were reportedly interesting in making Seider the co-offensive coordinator.
Seider has been in Happy Valley since 2018 and has been responsible for recruiting and developing some of Penn State’s top running backs during that time. Keeping Seider in State College is a huge benefit for James Franklin’s staff heading into the offseason.

Penn State’s rushing attack left a lot to be desired during the 2021 season. Despite having a plethora of capable backs, the Nittany Lions didn’t produce a single 100-yard rusher in any game during the year.
The Nittany Lions’ ground game, which averaged 108 yards on the ground, ranked 13th in the B1G and 118th nationally.
There’s obviously some room for improvement, but Penn State’s running backs have produced at a high level traditionally. Getting better push up front and keeping guys healthy would be a significant improvement for the Nittany Lions next season.
