Report: Penn State targeting ACC assistant for OL coach vacancy
By Paul Harvey

It has been a period of change for Penn State after a strong year under head coach James Franklin.
The staff turnover began when offensive coordinator Ricky Rahne left to take the head coaching position at Old Dominion. His vacancy was filled by luring OC Kirk Ciarrocca away from P.J. Fleck’s staff at Minnesota.
One remaining vacancy that the Nittany Lions are still trying to fill is that of offensive line coach. Some names have been floated around as potential candidates, but Pete Thamel with Yahoo! Sports is reporting a top candidate has emerged.
According to Thamel, Boston College OL coach Phil Trautwein has become the primary target for Franklin and Penn State. Trautwein had a decorated college career at Florida and began his coaching career with stints at BC and Davidson.
Thamel is also reporting that Trautwein has shot down interest from SEC schools, so it will be interesting to see if he becomes seriously interested in the vacancy at Penn State.
