Brenton Strange took the load off of the tight end position against Purdue with his incredible performance. James Franklin could go with him again if Johnson doesn’t return to action sooner.
Strange hauled in 2 receptions for 77 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Penn State has 3 other TE’s on the roster other than Strange and Johnson. Luckily, its next game will be a tune-up game against Ohio that should Johnson enough time to get better.
Johnson has been with Penn State since 2020, and has appeared in 21 games for Franklin. Penn State faces off against Ohio Saturday at noon ET on ABC.
