Admission into the SEC for Texas and Oklahoma might be in place by the end of the week.
Chip Brown of 247Sports is reporting that the 14 presidents from the SEC are expected to vote on the inclusion of Texas and Oklahoma into the conference on Thursday. It is also expected that the two schools are admitted, per the report.
The ball has been moving relatively quickly since reports initially seeped out that Texas and Oklahoma were exploring an opportunity to leave the Big 12 and join the SEC. Earlier this week, the two schools filed a joint statement to the Big 12, formally announcing their intention to leave.
Just a day later, the two schools formally requested an invitation into the SEC. Now, it looks like the Longhorns and Sooners will be accepted into the conference by the end of the week.
It will undoubtedly reshape the world of college athletics and could result in another round of conference realignment in the coming months.
