Report: Several dome venues in consideration for B1G’s spring season

A number of dome stadiums are being considered as potential host sites for the B1G’s 2021 spring football season, according to a report from Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch.
Wednesday, Rabinowitz reported that stadiums in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Detroit, Minneapolis and Syracuse could potentially be host sites for B1G spring games. He spoke with Amanda Babb, the president of the Ohio State football parents group, about the topic.
The report from Rabinwoitz comes on the same day that Blue and White Illustrated reported that the B1G had an outline of a framework for the spring schedule model. That model includes eight games with no on-campus contests.
All games would be played at neutral-site locations, however there was no mention of potential venues. Due to the climate in most Midwestern states during the winter and spring, dome settings seem like an ideal situation.
Per the Blue and White Illustrated report, the season would begin the week after New Year’s Day and there would be no games held on campuses. There would also be a conference championship game between the top two teams in the league, and it’s a possibility that it could be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. There is also reportedly conversations about the B1G and Pac-12 potentially playing its traditional Rose Bowl Game between the two conference winners.
Each team would also have one bye week.
