Shaka Smart is reportedly on the move.

Friday morning, CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported that Marquette is working on a deal to make Smart the next head coach of the program. Smart would be leaving Texas and the Big 12 for a job in the Big East.

Smart has been the head coach at Texas for six seasons, leading the Longhorns to three NCAA Tournament appearances and playing in one NIT tournament. Texas has never made it past the Round o 64 under Smart, and was defeated by Abilene Christian the first round of this year’s event.

In six seasons, the Longhorns are 109-86 under Smart with a 52-56 mark in Big 12 play.

Prior to taking the job at Texas, Smart was the head coach at VCU for six seasons. He became one of the hottest coaches in the sport in 2011, when he led VCU from a play-in game in the NCAA Tournament to the Final Four.

At VCU, Smart compiled a 163-56 record and led the Rams to five March Madness appearances. In the 2009-10 season, VCU won the CBI Tournament.
