Report: Skype interviews, previous live scouting to help teams with 2020 NBA Draft

Skype interviews and prior in-person scouting will prove to be beneficial this summer, as NBA teams will be depending on those two items heavily when the draft rolls around later this year.
According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, NBA officials are anticipating an offseason in which there are no in-person interviews, individual workouts and NBA Combine. With the public health concerns currently affecting the entire country and shutting down the sports world, it seems unlikely that everything would be up and running as previously scheduled.
Right now, the 2020 NBA Draft is still scheduled to continue as planned.

NBA scouts had an entire college basketball regular season to evaluate talent. However, with the NCAA Tournament canceled, there were no late surges or potential risers in NBA Draft projections due to strong play in March.
There should be plenty of information available for general managers and head coaches to make educated decisions about which players best fit their franchise. But it’s just further evidence that teams and leagues are forced to get a little more creative with the process.
