Urban Meyer has agreed to a deal to become the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to multiple reports.

Yahoo!’s Pete Thamel and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler are among those saying the deal is expected to be done at some point on Thursday.

Earlier this morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the two sides were in “advanced talks” after another meeting on Wednesday.

Meyer last coached for Ohio State during the 2018 season. He decided to step away for health reasons following a seven-year run with the Buckeyes.

He also turned down advances from Texas earlier this offseason, reportedly citing health issues.

While Meyer has had a legendary college career, he doesn’t have any experience in the NFL. It will be fascinating to see how he builds a coaching staff and how NFL players respond to his coaching techniques.

Jacksonville was one of the most coveted NFL jobs in this cycle because they have the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence is currently expected to be the selection.
