Report: USC TE, brother of Illinois WR Josh Imatorbhebhe, enters NCAA transfer portal

Daniel Imatorbhebhe, the brother of Illinois wide receiver Josh Imatorbhebhe, is reportedly leaving USC and hitting the NCAA transfer portal. USCFootball.com first reported the news on Tuesday evening.
Daniel would be a graduate transfer from USC and would be immediately eligible at his next destination. Is there a chance Illinois head coach Lovie Smith targets the tight end in the coming weeks? Both Daniel and Josh played together at USC prior to Josh’s transfer, so the Fighting Illini seem like a viable option for the tight end.
According to his player profile page on USCTrojans.com, Daniel has missed the last two seasons because of a nagging injury that he sustained in his upper leg. The last time he was on the field was in 2017, when he appeared in nine games.
In his two most productive years at USC (2016-17), Danield appeared in 22 contests and totaled 394 yards and 4 touchdowns on 25 catches.
Josh’s transition from USC to Illinois in 2019 was incredibly successful. The junior totaled 634 yards and 9 touchdowns on 33 receptions in his first season with the Fighting Illini. He’ll be expected to be the primary target in the offense in Champaign once again in 2020.
Both Daniel and Josh have one season of eligibility remaining.
