Before the season, head coach Ryan Day said that he shaved his beard out of superstition.
Day has now reversed course after beating Rutgers; the beard is here to stay.
“It’s not going to change right now,” said Day according to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch. “I’m going to keep it going.”
Day’s beard has grown back. After Saturday’s win, he isn’t going to shave it now. “It’s not going to change right now. I’m going to keep it going.”

The Buckeyes are 4-1 and 2-0 in the B1G this season. They have wins over Minnesota, Tulsa, Akron and Rutgers. Their lone loss is to the No. 8 Oregon Ducks 35-28 at home.
Ohio State went on the road and obliterated an improved Rutgers team 52-13 on Saturday.
The Buckeyes still face 3 AP Top-25 opponents this season. No. 4 Penn State, No. 11 Michigan State and No. 9 Michigan. 2 out of 3 games will be at home for the Buckeyes.
We will see how long Day will keep the beard or if he will reverse course again if Ohio State drops another game.
Ohio State plays at home this weekend vs. Maryland at noon ET on FOX.
