Ricky Rahne is taking some Penn State assistants with him to help fill his staff at Old Dominion.
After spending a number of years working under James Franklin, including the last two as OC for the Nittany Lions, Rahne is leaving Happy Valley for his first head coaching job. He takes over for the Monarchs and will try to turn around a team that won five games over the past two seasons.
On Friday, Old Dominion announced the addition of four members to Rahne’s staff. Among them are Kirk Campbell, Kevin Smith, and Kevin Reihner who served at Penn State this season.
According to the release, Campbell will be the OC and coach quarterbacks, Smith will be the special teams coordinator and coach the outside linebackers, and Reihner will coach the offensive line. Hopefully, the moves work out for Rahne while also allowing Penn State to continue its strong play moving forward.
