Rob Vaughn has spent the majority of his coaching career at Maryland, guiding the Terrapins to postseason play for 3 straight seasons. Unfortunately, he is reportedly leaving the program for a head coaching job in the SEC.

According to John Talty of 247Sports, Alabama is expected to hire Vaughn to serve as the next head coach of the Crimson Tide. Vaughn has been with the Terrapins since 2013 and has been head coach since 2018.

Losing Vaughn would undeniably be a big blow for the Terrapins. He was named the B1G Coach of the Year in 2022 and 2023 while leading Maryland to back-to-back league titles and the B1G Tournament Championship during the 2023 season.

Vaughn played for Kansas State during his time as a collegiate player from 2006-09. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Kansas State from 2011-12 before moving to the Terrapins as an assistant in 2013.

In 6 seasons as head coach, the Terrapins went 183-115 overall and appeared in the NCAA Tournament 3 straight years from 2021-23. Maryland hosted a regional as a national seed in 2022 but was unable to advance.
