Robert Griffin III abruptly left the set of ESPN’s Fiesta Bowl coverage after getting some exciting news.

Griffin received a phone call mid-broadcast that his wife was going into labor. Excitedly, Griffin received a hug and congratulations from Taylor Lewan before sprinting off of the field.

Griffin’s co-hosts were initially confused as to what was going on. Griffin took his headset off to answer his cell phone and then said “I gotta go.” “To the bathroom?” asked Cole Kubelic.

Once it was obvious what was happening, Griffin received congratulations from his co-hosts before sprinting off of the field.

This will be Griffin’s 3rd child with his wife, Grete Griffin. Griffin also has a child with his ex-wife.

Griffin was on set to cover the Fiesta Bowl with the Pat McAfee show. Griffin has been an analyst for ESPN since retiring from football in 2021.
