Purdue fans who saw that wide receivers Rondale Moore and David Bell have been missing practice may have felt their stomachs drop. But there isn’t too much reason to panic, according to Jeff Brohm.

Moore and Bell have been sidelined with hamstring issues recently, and the Purdue coaching staff is being very cautious with two really good playmakers. The situation with Moore seems to be less serious, whereas Bell may have a more significant injury he’s dealing with.

Still, Brohm hopes to have both guys on the field and practicing by the end of the week.

“Rondale will be fine,” Brohm told reporters in a video from GoldandBlack.com. “He’s had some hamstring slide issues and we’re being very cautious with him.

“I would think, Rondale, hopefully, [will be back] by the end of the week. David Bell, since he hasn’t practiced yet, I’m not as sure. I’d like to get him back by the end of the week but I’m not positive.”

Moore was an integral part of Purdue’s offense a year ago, and led the nation in receptions while also leading the B1G in receiving yards and touchdown catches. Bell is a four-star wide receiver out of Indianapolis expected to make an immediate impact for the Boilermakers, much like Moore did a year ago.

It sounds as if Brohm is being cautious with two of his key playmakers heading into the season. Still, the status of those two players will be something to keep an eye on throughout the rest of camp.
