Rough week: After losing captaincy, Dwayne Haskins is looking miserable during Sunday’s start for Washington

Dwayne Haskins had a rough week, and the weekend isn’t going much better.
After Haskins attended his girlfriend’s birthday party last weekend at a hotel, his actions marked the second time he violated the team’s COVID-19 protocols. Earlier in the year, he had a family friend at a hotel the night before a Washington game with the New York Giants.
On Wednesday, Washington coach Ron Rivera removed Haskins as team captain, and the former Ohio State Buckeye was fined.
Even with all the outside distractions, Haskins was named the starter for Washington on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers as starter Alex Smith is inactive for a second week with a calf injury.
Without Washington’s leading receiver Terry McLaurin, who is out due to an ankle injury, Carolina is making Haskins’ Sunday afternoon a rough one.
At the half, Haskins was just 6-of-15 passing, with three turnovers – two of them interceptions, and Washington was trailing Carolina 20-3. It is not the kind of day Haskins was hoping for, especially with Washington aiming for a playoff spot.
Reports have already begun to surface that Haskins may not last much longer in Washington. Sunday’s performance will likely just add more fuel to that fire.
