A tough week on the baseball diamond has resulted in Michigan falling in the latest baseball rankings.

Michigan dropped two of its three games to UConn this past week, falling to 4-3 on the season. The Wolverines fell to the Huskies 8-7 on Friday before posting a 14-2 victory on Saturday. UM fell in the rubber match 9-2 to drop the three-game series.

Last week, the Wolverines were ranked No. 1 in the Baseball America poll, but have fallen to No. 5. In the D1baseball.com rankings, Michigan slipped from No. 9 to No. 16.

Erik Bakich’s bunch is still the only B1G team to be ranked in the top 25.

This weekend, Michigan heads west for a three-game series against Cal Poly. between Friday and Sunday. The Mustangs are 3-5 on the young season, and have already fallen to the Wolverines, losing 8-5 on Feb. 15.
