Russell Wilson will be on the IR for Sunday Night Football, but it does not feel right to label the quarterback as “inactive” for the game.

After injuring a finger on his throwing hand, Wilson underwent surgery and will miss some time. He was placed on IR Friday and will miss at least the next 3 games for the Seahawks before he is eligible to return.

Though Wilson will not be playing Sunday night, he still took part in some pre-game warmups. He ran through some imaginary two-minute drills on the field to stay sharp and get a little work in before kickoff.

That may sound unreal, but it is the actual truth:

After getting his work in, Wilson has not left the sideline for the game. Instead, he remained with the team on the field, likely to help guide backup QB Geno Smith in any way possible against the Steelers.

Wilson truly is a one-of-a-kind player and teammate.
