Rutgers is continuing its resurgence under Greg Schiano since he returned to lead the program prior to the 2020 season. Schiano led the program to 3 wins in the shortened 2020 campaign and improved to a 5-7 regular-season record in 2021.
The Scarlet Knights did get a chance to play in a bowl game as a replacement team, a loss to Wake Forest in the Gator Bowl. While that game did not go Rutgers’ way, the experience and extra practices could come in handy for 2022 and beyond.
