Here at Saturday Tradition, we don’t expect the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to even come close to making it to a bowl game this year. In fact, we expect them to go 3-9.
But for you optimistic Rutgers fans who believe this is the year the Scarlet Knights return to a bowl game, you may want to check out this “most realistic path to a bowl” that NJ Advance Media beat writer Keith Sargeant planned out on Thursday.
Sargeant believes that Rutgers can beat Eastern Michigan, Morgan State, Illinois and Purdue to head into November with a 4-4 record. He then goes onto state that the best two, remaining winnable games are Maryland and Michigan State. That would give Rutgers a 6-6 record and make it eligible for a bowl game.
