Rutgers is 1-10 so far this season.

The Scarlet Knights won their first game of the season against Texas State and then have lost their last 10. Sometimes, the beginning isn’t always indicative of what’s to come.

To conclude 2018, Rutgers is scheduled to travel to face Michigan State. The game will take place at 4 p.m. and be televised on FOX.

For the Scarlet Knights, facing the Spartans to end the season is a new experience. Rutgers coach Chris Ash wants a familiar foe:

Here’s exactly what he said:

“We’re new to the conference and still new to trying to have a rivalry with somebody in the league like Purdue-Indiana, Illinois-Northwestern, Wisconsin-Minnesota, Iowa-Nebraska,” Ash said. “A lot of those are either geographically or historically long-standing rivalries within this conference. It would be kind of cool to end with the same team.”

Rutgers wants a rival. But in order to get one, intense football games must occur. As of late, the Scarlet Knights just haven’t had many of those.
