Chris Ash was quite vocal about his dislike of Rutgers’ old uniforms.
Changing the program’s look was one of his first duties after taking over in December. By now, you’ve probably seen Rutgers’ new home and away jerseys for 2016. Those jerseys are a clean, bold look — as Ash wanted — that will make Rutgers easy to identify.
But they’ll also have an alternate look for the 2016 season. Rutgers debuted the “Dark Knight” uniforms on social media on Tuesday:

As you can tell, those all-black helmets have a matte finish. The jerseys, which are also fittingly black, at least have the white numbers so they retain the bold look.
When will the Scarlet Knights don the “Dark Knight” uniforms? A night game would figure to be likely. Rutgers is hosting Penn State in the final home game of the year, and that game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.
But don’t be surprised if we see the new threads sooner than late November.
