According to NJ.com, the five Rutgers players who were arrested for an assault charge have been kicked off the team.

Nadir Barnwell was at the center of the impermissible contact investigation involving head coach Kyle Flood. The news broke Thursday that the charges stemmed from a home invasion case last year.

Rutgers is also dealing with suspensions to quarterback Chris Laviano and Leonte Carroo for the first half of Saturday’s opener against Norfolk State.

Flood’s case is still pending as the season kicks off.
