Rutgers lands pledge from Temple OL transfer

Rutgers has added some depth to its offensive line.
On Thursday, just one day after announcing he was entering his name in the NCAA transfer portal, former Temple offensive lineman David Nwaogwugwu announced that he is committing to Rutgers. He becomes the third player to recently announce his transfer destination to Rutgers.
Former Temple defensive tackle Ifeanyi Maieh and Kansas State wide receiver Josh Youngblood will also be suiting up for the Scarlet Knights in future seasons.
Nwaogwugwu was a member of the 2018 recruiting class and signed with the Owls. At 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, Nwaogwugwu adds great size to the Rutgers offensive line and also provides some much needed depth for a unit that has struggled in recent years.
During his career at Temple, Nwaogwugwu appeared in 10 games and made one start during the 2020 season. Because the NCAA will allow all student-athletes to retain this year of eligibility, the former Owl will have three years left when he arrives at Rutgers.
The Scarlet Knights were one of two B1G teams to play all 9 games in 9 weeks during the 2020 season. They ended the year with a 3-6 record.
