Rutgers’ Saturday was seemingly doomed from the start.

The Scarlet Knights are in Bloomington for a showdown with Indiana, and it has not gone well. In fact, Rutgers gave up a touchdown on the first play of the game, despite starting on offense.

Quarterback Johnny Langan was drilled after dropping back to pass on the play and fumbled. That fumble was scooped up by the Hoosiers and returned for a touchdown.

Unfortunately, the afternoon hasn’t improved for Langan and company. He has gone 5-for-10 throwing the ball, but he has not been particularly effective. Why? He’s thrown for just one yard.

No, seriously:

It will be interesting to see if he can improve on that line in the second half. Surely there are not many quarterbacks to finish a game with more completions than yards gained.
