Ryan Day addresses continued concerns for Ohio State’s secondary coming out of Week 6

Ryan Day and Ohio State are safely through Week 6, heading to a bye week with an undefeated record. Despite some big injury concerns, the Buckeyes have answered every test, thanks in large part to the play of Heisman candidate CJ Stroud.
In the win over Michigan State, Stroud was dominant with 6 touchdowns while lighting up the Spartan defense. And despite the blowout win, one area continues to be a concern for Day and the Buckeyes.
That area is the secondary where injuries and some underperformers have led to some letdowns on defense. On Saturday, the head coach of the Buckeyes addressed the unit.
According to Day, the secondary is “there” for a lot of plays, but “We just don’t seem to be making them.” Nevertheless, Day remains confident the group can perform when called upon.

Ohio State will definitely need the unit to perform better against tough competition. Games against Penn State, Maryland and Michigan in particular pit better offensive attacks against the Buckeye defense.
