Ryan Day addresses emotions, revenge factor of Ohio State-Indiana showdown
By Andrew Olson
Published:
Ohio State has historically dominated the Indiana series by a record of 80-13-5. From 1991 to 2024, OSU won every on-field meeting (with 2010’s 38-10 victory officially vacated). On Saturday, though, the Buckeyes face the prospect of suffering back-to-back losses to the Hoosiers for the first time since 1987-88.
While Indiana’s 13-10 win over OSU in the 2025 Big Ten Championship Game is sure to be a storyline, Ryan Day doesn’t want the Buckeyes to be too focused on getting revenge for last year.
“Well, I think everybody has their own thoughts and emotions, but I think, as we talked on Sunday and we’ll talk again today here in the team meeting, like nothing that happened in the past has anything to do with what’s going on this weekend,” Day said. “We can learn from the past, and so some of the guys who played in that game can learn about all the reasons why we came up short, and that’s fine, and that’s good. But the focus has to be on right now, and that’s it. So that’s what we’re going to focus on, and that’ll be the best for the team.”

Ohio State and Indiana are among the 4 Big Ten teams yet to lose in conference play. OSU’s only blemish is the 24-23 loss to Texas in Week 2, but the Buckeyes have won their last 4 games in dominating fashion.
Saturday’s top-5 showdown is set for noon ET, airing on FOX.
