Ryan Day announces ‘long-term injury’ for Ohio State safety

Ohio State will have less depth at the safety position for the remainder of the season.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day announced on Thursday that freshman safety Jantzen Dunn sustained a long-term injury during last weekend’s 52-13 victory at Rutgers.

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound Dunn arrived at Ohio State from Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren. Dunn was ranked as the nation’s 10th-best safety and No. 172 prospect overall in the Class of 2021, according to the 247Sports Composite.
After falling to Oregon in Week 2, Ohio State is currently on a three-game winning streak, with victories vs. Tulsa, Akron, and Rutgers.
Next up for Ohio State is a home matchup vs. conference foe Maryland on Oct. 9 (Noon EST, FOX). Maryland was routed 51-14 by Iowa for its first loss of the season.
Ohio State is 6-0 all-time vs. Maryland.
