Ryan Day is undoubtedly a bit frustrated with B1G officiating after a number of corrections have been sent to Ohio State this season.

Already, the Buckeyes have been informed of a pair of penalties incorrectly called on the team that wiped potential points off the board. One of the corrections involved a penalty that wiped away a Marvin Harrison Jr. touchdown in Week 1 while another correction took a touchdown away from Miyan Williams.

Then, in Week 6, Day himself was called for a sideline interference penalty during the game against Maryland. Day admitted he would run with the guys for that one.

The head coach was asked about the string of corrections and recent officiating from the B1G at his weekly press conference, and Day admitted he had to be careful with his comments. All he would say is that he has a responsibility to fight for his players, something he will continue to do at full force.

“Like you said, it’s hard for me to say much. I can just tell you this: It’s my job to advocate for the players and compete,” said Day. “There’s so much on the line every single Saturday. You’ve got my word, I’m going to go as hard as I possibly can to defend our players to make sure they have the best environment to be successful, that’s the best way I can put it.”

As for what he does with the league’s apology letters, Day offered a wry smile but no comment as to the letter’s final destination.

“No comment. I wish I could say,” said Day to chuckles from the media members.
