Day, who has been Ohio State’s head coach since 2019, heads into this season with a 34-4 coaching record. Having a strong record will be important for Ohio State in getting to the Playoff. Day made comments about the future of the college football postseason tournament, per the Columbus Dispatch’s Rob Oller:
“Getting to the playoffs is very important and playing your best football at the end of the season will be critically important where now, you have to make sure you’re on every single week,” Day said.
This expansion could have helped out Ohio State last season when the Buckeyes settled for a bid to the Rose Bowl against Utah.
