We all know Ohio State will rely heavily on quarterback CJ Stroud and the Buckeyes’ wide receiving corp but who will be leading the running backs this season?

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, tried to answer those questions during his radio show Wednesday night.

“We’ve spent an inordinate amount of time running the football (in practice). He also said that the running back a room can “make an impact.”

Day praised freshman running back Dallan Hayden who has stepped up since the injury to Evan Pryor who will only be used if needed according to Day who says Hayden will be the third option at running back.

“He’ll be our third running back going into the game.”

Chip Trayanum – a linebacker for the Buckeyes and former RB – has also taken a few snaps at running back. He will be the fourth option if needed.

“If a bomb ever went off, Chip Trayanum would actually be our fourth running back.”

The Buckeyes running backs are going to have to step up, especially in games where Stroud and the offense struggles or in close games when they will need them to step up and close out games.

Day realizes that, but the good news is that the running back room seems to be filled with good, experienced backs.
