Ryan Day dreading being home for Ohio State’s game against Michigan State

Coaches want to coach. That might be the most obvious statement in the history of my writing career, I know.
But when a potential B1G title and spot in the College Football Playoff is on the line, being stuck at home while watching his team on television is brutal for Ohio State’s Ryan Day. He wants to be on the sidelines in East Lansing this weekend.
A positive COVID-19 test last week will keep Day inside his home this weekend as the Buckeyes put their 4-0 record on the line against 2-4 Michigan State in East Lansing. Needless to say, the second-year head coach is dreading it.
“I’ll be watching and communicating up until game time and trying to do the best I can that way,” Day said, according to Buckeye Extra. “But once the game starts, the coaches have to coach, and the players have to play.
“It’ll probably be the hardest three hours of my life, but at that point you just have to get them to the game and then let them go.”
Ohio State needs a win this weekend to improve its College Football Playoff resume. While the Buckeyes have the talent advantage, being without Day could be a problem on Saturday.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET with the game airing on ABC.
