The defense has been the talk of the town in Buckeye land after the loss to the Oregon Ducks 35-28.

Head coach Ryan Day has talked about what he has wanted to change on defense all week ahead of the game against Tulsa. That includes potentially changing defensive player callers.

“We have to figure out what makes the best sense in terms of organizing the game plan and calling the game,” Day told reporters on Thursday. “That’s all we’re focused on. We can’t worry about feelings. We can’t worry about anything other than putting guys in the best place to be successful.”

There has been talk about someone else calling the plays on defense instead of DC Kerry Coombs and even switching positions for players ahead of the game.

Nothing has been etched in stone yet for the Buckeyes defense, but a lot could be changing this week.

The Buckeyes have home tilts vs. Tulsa and Akron before getting into the thick of conference play with a road trip to Rutgers.
