Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes are undefeated on the season, but they haven’t played the most difficult schedule to this point. However, that changes this weekend as the Buckeyes travel to Eugene to take on Oregon in the biggest game of the weekend.
When talking on his weekly radio show on Thursday, Day talked about some keys for the Buckeyes if they are going to win in Eugene.
Ryan Day said Ohio State needs to run the ball, stop the run and take care of the ball to beat Oregon.

“The turnover battle is huge,” Day said. “The battle of field position becomes critically important. We’ve got to take of the football in this game. We got to make sure we’re finishing drives.”
These are areas where the Buckeyes have been good thus far on the season. On 3rd-down conversions, Ohio State is tied for 10th in the country, converting 51.7% of their attempts. Oregon is also very good on 3rd down with the Ducks ranking 18th at 50%. Ohio State is +4 in the turnover margin, while Oregon has struggled in this area at -1.
These 2 teams are incredible even when it comes to talent and playmaking ability, and the difference in this game could more than likely come down to which team makes the fewest mistakes. Ohio State is a 3.5-point favorite at bet365, so one key play or mistake is likely to be the difference.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be on NBC.
