Ryan Day talked about where Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Miyan Williams, and Kam Babb are in regard to their status for the Iowa game. Columbus Dispatch’s Bill Rabinowitz reported on what he said.

Day is working on the expectation that Smith-Njigba and Williams will be available for the Iowa game. When it comes to Babb Day said that he is feeling optimistic, but chances are he won’t be ready until after Iowa.

Smith-Njigba has played in two games so far this season. Williams was not seen at Michigan State due to an undisclosed injury. Babb has not played in a single game yet after suffering an injury in August.

Williams and TreVeyon Henderson have done a good job at rotating in and out of the backfield when needed. They have combined for 933 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.

We’ll see if Smith-Njigba and Williams will be in the lineup for Week 8 after what Day said.
