Despite Ohio State being up 17-10 at the break, head coach Ryan Day isn’t pleased with how his team’s offense has performed.
The Buckeyes averaged just 1.6 yards per carry and finished with 19 rushing yards. Granted, Penn State’s defense is one of the best in the country, but it’s still a surprise to see this given how OSU has run the ball this season.
Day loved Stroud’s touchdown pass to Chris Olave but still didn’t care at all for the running game:
“It was well done, thought the protection was good, just enough to stay on,” said Day. We’ve gotta run the ball better and stay on schedule.”
Day then commented on the scoop-and-score which could be the game-changing play by the time this one is over:
“That was great to get a defensive score,” Day explained. “Anytime that happens it’s a big deal to flip the scoreboard that way.”
Penn State would go on to get a field goal to end the half as it trails OSU, 17-10.
