Ryan Day offers brief update on Justin Fields, health of Buckeyes for Fiesta Bowl

Ryan Day did not go into detail about the status of Justin Fields’ knee ahead of the Fiesta Bowl, but he did briefly mention Fields during his Friday media availability.
Really the biggest question mark for the Buckeyes, Fields continues to deal with a knee injury he initially sustained in the win over Penn State. He reinjured the knee against Michigan but quickly returned and played well against the Wolverines and in the B1G Championship against Wisconsin.
During Tuesday’s media session, Fields admitted that his knee was not yet back to 100%. However, he was still hopeful that the knee would continue to improve and will start the game in his smaller, less bulky brace.

On Friday, Day addressed Fields to simply say the quarterback is doing great. Later during his appearance, Day touched on the Buckeyes as a whole and said everybody is healthy for the game.

The ultimate status of Fields’ knee may be unknown to the public, but it certainly doesn’t sound like Day or the Buckeyes have any concerns heading into Saturday’s matchup. Hopefully, Fields is able to be as effective as he’s been all season long against a tough Tigers defense.
