Ryan Day is entering 2023 with an emphasis on balance at the head coaching position.
At B1G Media Days Wednesday, Day revealed that he intends to enter the 2023 season looking to do more for the Buckeyes as a whole, not so much on the offensive side of the ball. Day has been in charge of play calling in seasons past but will hand the mantle over to Brian Hartline in 2023.
Hartline’s newfound role at offensive coordinator will allow Day to be able to look at the bigger picture. See his comments on his intentions below:
“As the season wears on, I have to be conscious this year of not getting too locked into the offense and making sure that I have a handle on everything that’s going on. I think certainly Brian (Hartline)running the offense and Justin Fry with the O-line, some of the other additions to out staff will allow us to do that.”
