Having three players on the same team worthy of the Heisman Trophy conversation is a rarity. But this season, It’s been very much the case for Ohio State.

Quarterback Justin Fields, running back J.K. Dobbins and defensive end Chase Young have all been outstanding this season, leading the Buckeyes to a perfect 12-0 regular season and a B1G East title. At some point this season, all three have been in the Heisman conversation.

After a 56-27 win over Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was asked which of those three players deserves to win the Heisman Trophy. He can’t make a case for just one.

“I’ll say this,” Day started, according to Nathan Baird of Cleveland.com. “All three of them played great today. All three of them deserve to be in New York and I’ll let everybody make a decision on what they think.”

All three did have outstanding performances.

Fields completed 14-of-25 attempts for 302 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for an additional 25 yards. Dobbins rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns, and also caught two passes for 49 yards.

Young had two quarterback hurries and continued to have a major impact on the game.

Will any of the three find themselves in New York in a few weeks? Only time will tell.
