Ryan Day has been impressed with how his wide receivers have handled things this season in Columbus. The WR core has stepped up in the absence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

With Smith-Njigba out, Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr have filled in quite nicely. Egbuka has 735 yards receiving while Harrison is second on the team with 598. They have also combined for 17 touchdowns for the Buckeyes.

Julian Fleming is rounding into form too after a slow start to the year. In his most recent game against Iowa, he had 105 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.

Day further went on to further explain what makes the receivers at Ohio State so special.

“I think there’s some guys in that room who are very mature,” said Day. “They don’t look like they’re 18, 19, 20. They don’t talk like it. They don’t act like it. They don’t speak like it. But they are.”

If Ohio State’s wideouts are doing this when Smith-Njigba is out, then look out when he finally gets healthy.
