Ryan Day used a fourth quarter surge from his team to beat Penn State on Saturday. Ohio State is now 8-0 after the 44-31 win at Beaver Stadium.

This was Ohio State’s first ranked road win of the season. Penn State was No. 13 coming into the game. Day commented on how the locker room was feeling after the win.

“That locker room was on fire afterwards,” said Day. “They really deserved it.”

It meant a lot to Day for his team to get a win in Happy Valley. Day understood how difficult it can be to perform well in that kind of environment. Ohio State has now won six straight wins against the Nittany Lions.

“It’s huge,” said Day. “Nothing comes easy in this environment against Penn State, who does a great job,” he said. “To respond the way we did and figure out what was wrong with (our performance early) was great.”

Ohio State faces Northwestern next on Nov. 5.
