Ryan Day was on ‘971 The Fan’ in Columbus recently and talked about how he thinks Ohio State has done at this point. Eleven Warriors’ Griffin Strom reported on what he said.

Ohio State is one of two undefeated teams in the B1G along with Michigan following Week 7. However, Day stated that the team has not met any of their goals just yet.

“We’ve done some good things the first half of the season, but none of our goals have been met,” said Day.

One of the obvious goals for Ohio State would be to return to the national title game and win it. The Buckeyes have not won a national championship since the 2014 season with Ezekiel Elliot, Joey Bosa, and Cardale Jones against Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.

The Buckeyes have made several appearances in the College Football Playoff, but have not won a title since then. The closest that the team has gotten was against Alabama in 2021 where they eventually lost 52-24.

Day knows that the job isn’t finished until he brings a trophy back to Columbus.
