Ryan Day and Ohio State made it official Monday that Jaxon-Smith Njbba will miss the Peach Bowl against Georgia on New Year’s Eve.
Day released a statement on the absence of Smith-Njigba moving forward:

“I want to be out there competing with my brothers more than anything,” Smith-Njigba told ESPN on Monday. “The decision to turn pro was made after I was unable to come back on multiple occasions during the season and the doctors determined I would be unable to participate in the playoffs.”
Smith said it was really frustrating to him not to be able to return to the field this season.
