Ryan Day reveals weather vs. Northwestern forced Buckeyes to abandon gameplan

Ryan Day blamed the weather as the culprit for the Buckeyes sluggish start against Northwestern on Saturday.
As winds gusted 40+ mph and rained poured down on Ryan Field, QB CJ Stroud was severely limited with the passing game. The QB was just 10-for-26 passing for only 76 yards due to the conditions. The Buckeyes relied heavily on Stroud’s rushing skills for the win in Evanston. The QB ended up rushing for 3 more yards than he did passing, finishing with 79 yards on 6 attempts.
According to head coach Ryan Day, rushing was not in the game plan headed into Saturday. Speaking to the press this week, Day said that the Buckeyes were forced to abandon their first game plan due to the weather. Day stated that the Buckeyes just needed to find a way to win, which they did, 21-7.
Day said the weather in Evanston forced OSU to abandon most of what they'd game-planned last week. He said Buckeyes couldn't worry about how it looked. Just had to find a way to win.

Hopefully the weather won’t force another game plan detour this weekend as the Buckeyes face Indiana at home.
