Ryan Day knows his Ohio State squad is talented, and he knows people around the country are aware of that talent. However, the Buckeyes are intent on proving they are more than just a talented squad this season.

After the gritty 21-10 win over Notre Dame, Day addressed the media and pointed out Ohio State wants to be able to win with defense and toughness at times this season. He said the team wants to be known for attributes besides talent, and he hopes his unit proved that on Saturday.

Though known for their passing attack, Ohio State leaned on the running attack to seal the deal in the fourth quarter. During one drive, Miyan Williams took over as the Buckeyes marched 90+ yards down the field for the icing score.

When it was all said and done, Ohio State’s defense limited Notre Dame to 10 points and dominated on the ground. The Buckeyes finished with 172 yards on 35 carries (4.9 yards per carry) with TreVeyon Henderson finishing with a game-high 91 rushing yards.

Day said a win like that is important because the Buckeyes will need to win some games like that in B1G play:
