Ryan Day was not letting the game against Notre Dame slip away. The Buckeyes scored the final 14 points of the game and controlled the clock late to secure the big home victory.
Ryan Day on how the Buckeyes closed things out against Notre Dame: "You could see the look in their eye. They really wanted to finish the game with the ball in their hands. … A lot of pride there because we really controlled the game in the fourth quarter."

Ohio State amassed 172 rushing yards to Notre Dame’s 76 in the win. Moreover, running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams rushed for over 6 yards a clip. Henderson finished with 91 yards on 15 carries while Williams rushed for 84 yards on 14 carries and 1 touchdown.
A solid running game over the course of the season will only make Ohio State more balanced, especially with Heisman hopeful CJ Stroud at quarterback. It will also help as Jaxon Smith-Njigba recovers from an injury sustained in the opener.
Day was honest in his assessment, admitting he expected that style of game against the Irish in Week 1. But in the end, he’s proud of how the team decided to adjust.
Ryan Day says "the style of the game is what we thought it would be" against Notre Dame and "we had to adjust to that."
"We had to run the football."

Ohio State will look to keep the ground game moving against Arkansas State. The Red Wolves secured a 58-3 victory over Grambling State in week 1. However, things could be different when they roll into Columbus. Arkansas State is 43.5-point underdogs against the Buckeyes.
