If you were expecting Ryan Day to give injury updates on his team before their upcoming game against Penn State Saturday, you would be sadly mistaken.

Day made it clear he wasn’t going to say anything and that he would leave it up to the doctors when asked about star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Day is not sharing that information. Most college coaches these days aren’t sharing injury reports with the media for fear that it would give the opposing team an advantage.

Take for instance Alabama head coach Nick Saban. When quarterback Bryce Young was injured during the Arkansas game, he refuse to let the media know before the Texas A&M and Tennessee games if the Heisman winner would play.

He wanted both Jimbo Fisher and Josh Heupel to prepare for both Young and backup Jalen Milroe. So fans may understand why Day doesn’t want to give Penn State any advantage before they play.

So, the world will have to wait and see who will be starting for the Buckeyes Saturday morning.
