Ryan Day talks challenges of 2020 season, potential of Buckeyes making Playoff on College GameDay

It appears based on the talk of the Saturday morning college football shows that Ohio State is at the center of the college football universe.
The Buckeyes take on Northwestern Saturday in the Big Ten Championship. A win likely puts the Buckeyes into the College Football Playoff. That comes with plenty of controversy, however, as Ohio State will have only played six games this season.
Head coach Ryan Day has been a part of all of this craziness and joined the College GameDay crew ahead of the big-time matchup in Indianapolis.
Like any good college football coach in 2020, Day was sure to mention his team’s culture.
“Our culture is all about the term ‘Fight,” he said. “Fight to be the best version of yourself. This team and these players, I feel like we have fought and here we are. We’re in preparation for the B1G championship.”
If the 2020 version of Ohio State has seen any adversity, it’s because of the pandemic. The Buckeyes have certainly had few issues on the field as Day’s squad’s only close game was Indiana earlier this season.
“Nothing is going the way you think,” Day said. “You take shots, you get disappointed, you have emotional days. But you just gotta keep pushing forward knowing it’s not gonna be perfect. I think that’s something you can carry with you. Not just in football but in life.”
Some coaches may be trying to plead their case to get into the top four. Day is not one of them.
“I don’t believe in jockeying,” he said. “At the end of the day, the CFP (committee) has to decide who has the best chance to win a national championship.”
